Dr. David R. Tolstrup is now accepting patients for the PRP Non Surgical Facelift.
The PRP Non Surgical Facelift is a natural skin regenerating treatment that uses enhanced elements of your own blood to rejuvenate your appearance by revitalizing the underlying skin structures rather than simply plumping up the wrinkles with a foreign substance.
What is PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets.
How does it work?
The PRP Non-surgical Facelift is an injection treatment the uses a specially prepared component of your own blood. A 50cc (about 3 tablespoons) fraction of blood placed in a specially designed, closed platelet concentration device and precisely spun at high speed in a centrifuge. This separates the whole blood into three distinct components: red blood cells, platelet poor plasma and platelet rich plasma (PRP). The concentration device is designed so that only the PRP is removed. As soon as the PRP is collected it is injected into the area(s) to be treated. When PRP is injected the platelets organize in the clot and release a number of enzymes that promote healing and tissue rejuvenation. As the newly formed collagen matures it begins to shrink causing tightening and improved structural integrity of the overlying skin. When used to treat skin that is suffering the effects of time, it can be used to improve the appearance of all of the common areas of concern; frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, smile lines, marionette lines, vertical lip lines, and skin that has been injured by sun exposure as well as acne scars. PRP can induce remodeling of the skin to a healthier and younger state. You should expect the full procedure to take about an hour. "Touch-up" treatments to boost and maintain your results may be done once a year after the initial treatments.
